I read the book and thought it was fabulous!!!! I signed up for the DVD on Amazon and they sent me an email last week to preorder it. The website says it should be out by July. I went ahead and ordered it, can't wait to see it. I'm sure the movie won't capture the feeling the book had but the reviews are favorable. Have you read the book? Suskind writes so beautifully. I wondered why the movie wasn't released here in the states. Only thing I can conclude is that in order to come close to the book, the movie would have to be very artsy. Artsy movies don't generally appeal to the average audience here. Check out Amazon.com.

Its a very sensual movie. It portraid perfectly the ambience and the novel.

i Liked for its slow tempo.

Kurt Cobain wrote the song "Scentless Apprentice" about the book, which was also one of his favorites. I couldn't imagine that they could have pulled off the book as a film, but I think they did an amazing job of capturing how Grenouille experienced scent. I enjoyed it.

The book was good and I enjoyed the movie. You will be able to get the movie at a Blockbuster on July 24.
