This is such a great TRIBE! I am so so so happy with all of you that helped me find Amber....

Now I am searching for a vanilla that will make me ooooze with sensory bliss, twinkling, enveloping, a orchid bean cosmic kiss.
Preferably natural, but if there is a damn good fragrance out there I might give it a chance.

:)

Namaste ;)

OK. search around and find some real oleoresin of vanilla bean. add 5-10% of this to pure, highest quality Black Labdanum. Heat, melt, and shake thouroughly, let cool and settle, and pour the yummy stuff off the top and pour it all over your blissful self. sometimes a teeny tiny bit of tonka butter makes it even more wonderful.

i am quite versed in labdanum but haven't seen 'black" labdanum.

      ?

also, i am most fond of vanilla CO2, i like it much more than any oleoresin so far.

vanilla and labdanum, 2/3 of the way to "amber", just add some frankincense for the general formula and then add small bits of other yummy stuff to taste...

      blessings~

Black Labdanum is wonderful. The dark ambers are dark because the labdanm that is added is the dark variety. Used it for years professionally as a perfumer, you would love it.

I am not sure what you mean by "black" either. Except that certain suppliers will use names like that to indicate their particular special thing, so I am guessing you got it from a certain place. The thing about labdanum is that it differs dramatically, and I do not like the eo's as much as just the raw goopy stuff that you can dilute with alcohol. That smells insaney good. Oooh, I must go smell some now.

I'm sorry. There are approximately 6 species of labdanum, they belong to another larger family. If you haven't smelt black, then there is no way for you to get that it is another labdanum, not an admixture. Lies about the production of amber is one of the biggest perpetrated frauds in perfume history. To be frankly honest, i have only found about 3% of the 'facts' and 'lore' about amber are in fact true. And frankly, 'black' in quotes sounds like you want me to authenticate my knowledge for you. I do not engage in 'whos right' talks. being a good parfumer requires more knowledge than that of scent- being a good botanical expert is also required. Engage the two and you will find black labdanum, and a few more surprises. feel free to disregard my information if you cant beleive it, i certainly don't need to be right, and it sounds like you two don't need any black labdanum. cheers.
