    i would say things like:

    Rosemary
    Citrus Scents (esp Orange)
    Cinnamon
    Juniper
    Violet
    Cocoa

things that rejuvenate like the citrus/sharp clean scents with a touch of warmth like from the violet or cocoa, to make you feel good.

I created a blend I call Tomorrow. Soothing and uplifting designed to bring hope into your life, I created it after hurricane Katrina when hope was just about all i had. Neroli and bergamot and some other things I'll keep secret. 3 $ from each bottle go to the Make it
Right foundation..... www.makeitrightnola.org/ Each .5oz bottle of essential oil blend $15.

Hope in general or in a specific area of your life?
In general I second the citrus reply. Also Young Living Valor blend. I am not a rep for them and do not usually like most of their blends but Valor is wonderful!
Perhaps your heart needs some healing? If so consider treating her with frankincense and rose.
Also work with clearing your root chakra with some frankincense and black copal, then charge it with valor.... just my 2cents.

    Blessings!

i second the Rose; its one of my favorite scents. I often use Rose water as a final rinse on my hair...........but be careful when using Rose scents, its amazing how strong and overpowering that "subtle" scent can be! ")

Anything that energizes you will also lift your spirits. Virtually any pleasant scent will work for this, but my favorites are:

        orange blossom
Ambreine (a very high quality cistus / 'rock rose'.)

Ambreine in particular, but if you combine the two - heavenly.

I find "regular" rose or jasmine scents too heavy for mood lifting, but that's just me.

Hypnosis, exercise, socializing, and comedy videos are also really good for mood-lifting, as is SAM-e, a type of vitamin you can find at the health food store (natural to your body - google it!)

        Good luck!

Clean, fresh scents I agree with!

Personally I find geranium alone gives me a lift and inspires hope. I also like neroli essential oil, which is tangy but also has some depth to it. What kind of scents do you enjoy generally?

      Oils to Dissipate Fear:
      Frankincense
      Chamomile Roman
      Ginger
      Cypress
      Sandalwood
      Bergamot
      Rose Maroc
      Basil
      Cinnamon
      Cedarwood
      Coriander

from Valerie Ann Worwood's book Aromatherapy for the Soul

When I cross-reference her book on the section for essential oils for the chakras, I get these oils for the base chakra:
(fear/loss of hope is usually affects the base chakra)

      Myrrh
      Patchouli
      Vetiver
      Rosewood
      Thyme
      Balsam de Peru

Maybe you could try a mix with some of these??
